APY are a 5 piece ROCK (screamo/post hardcore) band from Redditch.forming in autumn 2005 they have toured all over the uk creating a name for them selfs.
After sucessfully Signing to Rising Records in the summer of 2007 they continued writing(and touring) for the their much anticipated debut album A Little South Of Zero(out now) which is filled with all soaring metal riffs, galloping sections and those rich, memorable melodies that hook you in within seconds.
The band has already been compared to the likes of scene greats Alexisonfire, sounding like 36 Crazyfists, Hawthorne Heights, Killswitch Engage and My Chemical Romance jamming together. Days after recording ALSOZ the boys shot their first (of many) music videos with ASHTV, the single, serenade for spiders.

"This has more structure and personality than I would expect from a debut album of this kind; I can't pick out one track, they are all blinding...so much so that I might even travel to Ipswich to see them. Bloody hell. 9/10 Lenore "

"this Midlands based band finally released their first cd. It was worth waiting for . I am really happy that APY took their time before entering the studio. All 11 songs on this album are high class tracks. After the first listening these songs already rocked my socks off. "

"Emo, I'll never like it as much as I used to, but as long as a band like APY comes along once in a while, I won't discard the sub-genre as a whole...and that's a promise! 87/100"

"A Poetic Yesterday count certainly among the better bands of the genre. their songs appeal more than those of the competition. Aggressive parts are countered with sugar-coated choruses, but the contrasts are more extreme than usually, and still manage to flow seamlessly into each other. 8/10"

"Both the name and the art are a bit too much of a good thing for me. The music makes up for it however. No, we're not talking stretched out pieces of gum that lose their taste after ten seconds. We're talking miracle balls here and their taste lasts forever 8/10"
