Theme Tune Boy marks the return of Niall Quinn –drummer/songwriter with Limericks long lost indie-punk guitar thrashers The Hitchers.
‘Rose’ the 53 second debut single (begging the question “Is it a SINGLE? Or a JINGLE?”) from Theme Tune Boy was released in late 2009 in the run up to TTBs appearance at Hard Working Class Heroes in Dublins Temple Bar and is a brief taster from the forthcoming album ‘The Return of the Living Dead’.
Recorded between Limerick, Ireland and The Hague, Netherlands –much of The Return of the Living Dead will feature the blistering, high octane, sweet sounds of legendary Dutch punks Cooper backing the former Hitchers lyricist.
There were further live dates around Ireland in late 09 supporting the amazing Jinx Lennon as well as gigs with The Hitchers, The Demise, and The Dangerfields.
Meanwhile Rose –the debut single has been winning friends and picking up airplay both local and national –most notably from Alison Curtis and Paul McLoone. As Rose is less than a minute long but gets mentioned by name seven times Theme Tune Boy came up with the concept of the customizable pop-song. This means you can order your own personalized, customized version of Rose –but she won’t be Rose anymore –you can call her whatever you like and TTB will re-record the vocal for you. There's some examples on the 'space.
In early spring TTB took to the road for a mini-tour taking in dates in Dundalk (18.2.10), Galway (19.2.10) and Limerick (20.2.10) and any day now will release the 2nd single ‘Tailrace’.
